Skills Night - Pull Ups/Muscle Ups
Thursday October 13th, we are going to have a skills night to work on Pull Ups and Muscle Ups. We will cover everything from getting your first pull up, to how to progress towards kipping pull ups and muscle ups. We will start after the last class around 630pm!
Competitive Class
We will have a competitive class on October 15th at 8am, before our normal 9am workout. Anyone is welcome to come! It is a fun class, even if you aren't "competitive"
Halloween Workout - October 28 @ 5pm
This year's halloween workout will be the Friday before Halloween at 5pm. Find you a costume and come knock out a workout while looking ridiculous. It's a very fun time! We will also have food! We will not have any afternoon classes that day other than the halloween workout, but morning classes will be normal!
Athlete of the Month - Brian Owens
Brian Owens is our Athlete of the Month! Brian is one of the most diligent people you will ever meet whether that be in the gym or coaching football. He never fails to show up and work hard. Next time you see Brian, give him a nice high five!
Food for Thought
This is simply a reminder because I have mentioned this before. You need some easy gym days. Nearly every workout we do can be extremely hard or fairly easy, depending on the effort you put in. For the most part, everyone puts in a whole lot of effort. And this is a good thing! Intensity does equal results. However, on a larger scale, not every day needs to be extremely intense. Some days you need to sweat, move well and let your body recover a little. This allows your body to feel better and move better on other days, which creates results faster!
It's important to note to that "easy" days are different for everyone. Within a single class, some will be going all out while you may need to take it easy. And that's okay. Don't get sucked into feeling guilty for not going heavier or faster when you need to physically or mentally rest. You should still show up and still work, but not every day is a "let's freakin go!" day. Some days are an "I showed up and got it done" day. Both types of days are needed, and you should leave both days feeling accomplished.
See you in the gym!
