March Updates

Spring is here! And the warmer weather has these workouts feeling pretty great.

Here's a few things you need to know coming up:

Thelo Combine Recap

Our Combine last Saturday was great! I know everyone who came had a fun time testing some different strengths and skills. Our next combine will be fairly soon on Saturday April 20th. If you missed the last one, try to make this one!

Also, we are looking to add a couple more events to the combine. If you have anything you would like to specifically test, shoot us a message about it! Maybe a 40yard sprint...? or a mile...?

CrossFit 2024 Open

Last Friday was our first Friday Night Lights, and y'all showed up! It was a blast and we don't expect anything different this coming Friday and the next. For those who weren't able to make it, I promise you will have fun if you can make it this time. You don't even have to workout, just come hangout. It's a vibe!

Remember, this week's theme is Jersey Night. Next week will be team colors.

March Athlete of the Month - Ashley Moody

Our March 2024 Athlete of the Month is Ashley Moody! Ashley has been a member since spring of 2021, and is doing the CrossFit Open for the first time this year. And she is killing it! When you see Ashley, give her a solid high five!

Thelo Games 2024

As we have done for the past few years, we will be hosting the Thelo Games competition again this year on May 11th. This is always such a fun event. If you have ever wanted to do a fitness competition, this is a great one! You'll feel at home with it being at our gym, and it's not a huge competition overall.

Those who aren't competing, we really will need some help with judges and volunteers! So you can definitely still participate and be a part of it.

We also use the Thelo Games to reach out to businesses about sponsoring the event as well as the gym throughout the year. If you have noticed the banners hanging up at the gym year-round, this is where they come from. We will send out emails to previous business about sponsoring. But if you have a business and would like to sponsor, definitely reach out to us!

Programming Focus

We are finishing up our Squat, Bench Press, & Olympic Lifting Cycles. Testing starts this week! Next we will start a gymnastics cycle, shoulder press cycle, and deadlift cycle.

Outside of the cycles, we are still sticking with a barbell cycling & hypertrophy focus. But you will start to see a transition to more running and some endurance too with the warmer weather. It should be fun!

Coaches Thoughts

You all do a great job of putting effort into your workouts. But we need to keep in mind that equal effort needs to be put into our nutrition and your recovery. Otherwise, you won't see the adaptations form your workouts that you are looking for. It doesn't have to be perfect, but you do need to put some effort in.
