April Updates
Hey Guys!
Spring is off to a good start. Let's keep after it, and get ready for summer bodies and warmer weather!
Here's a few things coming up!
Skill Night - Jerks
On Friday April 15th we are going to have a skill night working specifically on Jerks. It'll be a good opportunity to slow down some and really dig into the technique of shoulder to overhead. If you can make it, it will be at 615 right after the last class.
Competitors Class
Our next competitors class will be on April 16th, the Saturday following the skill night. Remember, you don't have to be a 'competitor' to come. We just use this class to do some movements that we normally can't use for regular classes.
Thelo Games 2022
If you are planning on competing at the Thelo Games on May 14th, make sure you get signed up soon! The last day to sign up and still get a shirt is April 30th!
Yard Sale
We plan on using the parking lot at the gym to have a yard sale on Saturday May 21st! This is the 3rd year we have done this and its always fun. If you have anything you want to get rid of, come set up a table. You keep all the money!
Murph - Memorial Day Weekend
Just to give a heads up on Murph, we will do Murph on Saturday May 28th. The Saturday right before Memorial Day. We will not have a workout on actual Memorial Day.
Food for Thought
Working out doesn't make us into 'monsters' or 'beast'. Working out makes us normal. The strength to use our bodies well and be confident outside of the gym shouldn't be seen as abnormal. Yes, it takes a lot of work because most of our jobs are not extremely active. But we were made to move, lift, and work hard. Our bodies function better this way. I think we should try to shift our mindset to understand that being out of shape is not normal. It does take work to simply be or stay in shape, but it's very necessary.
See you in the gym!
